How to Share Dropbox Files Using Gmail Add-on

Dropbox for Gmail add-on can be installed directly in a Gmail account. Dropbox users can share their Dropbox files as email attachments, thus saving a lot of time switching between two windows. Earlier, we created an article about installing Gmail Add-on. In this article, we will show you how to share files using Dropbox for Gmail add-on.

  • Step 1: Log In to Your Gmail Account

Go to the Gmail website and enter your Google login credentials to access your email account.

  • Step 2:  Create a New Email

Click on the +Compose button that you can find on the left.

  • Step 3: Click on Dropbox Logo

Click on the Dropbox icon at the bottom of the Compose window. Note that Dropbox will be visible only if you already installed the add-on. If you didn’t find the Dropbox logo, check this article and install the add-on.

  • Step 4: Log in to Your Dropbox Account

Enter your Dropbox login credentials and click on the sign-in button.

  • Step 5: Log in to Your Dropbox Account

Enter your Dropbox login credentials and click on the sign-in button.

  • Step 6: Click on the Allow Button

After entering Dropbox credentials successfully, click on the Allow button.

  • Step 7: Search For Your Files

Search for the file you want to attach and click on the + button.

  • Step 8: Files Are Attached

You will see the files you selected to share in the body of your email. Note that you can only send Dropbox shareable links as attachments and not actual files
